Serp Full Form:- A search engine results page (SERP) is the list of results that a search engine returns in response to a specific word or keyword phrase query. The highest-ranking search results are either the most relevant results or results that an organization or individual paid the search engine to place at the top of the results page. Search engine algorithms are used to rank the content on the page, so links become less relevant as the reader moves down the page.

How do SERPs work?

There are three main types of web pages on a SERP:

• pages crawled and indexed by search engine spiders; • pages that have been manually added to the directory of the search engine; And • Pages that appear as a result of paid inclusion.

Search engines use complex algorithms and ranking signals or attributes that lead to favorable rankings to analyze these indexed webpages and multimedia contentin real time when a user searches. They then rank the web pages and their associated links in the most to least relevant position on the results page. SERPs also consider the searcher’s location and data such as search and browser history when presenting results.

What is a search engine results page?

A search engine results page, or SERP, is the page you see after entering a query into Google, Yahoo, or any other search engine. Each search engine’s SERP design is different, but since Google is the most popular—holding over 80% of the market share—we’ll focus on its features and algorithms.

What are the different types of search queries?

The SERP features that display after a search depends on the type of search query entered. Search queries typically fall into 1 of 3 categories: navigational, informational, or transactional.
